IMPACTFUL FAMILY HISTORY

Deputies Leland Whitney & Ruby Boyd became the 1st black men assigned to work a patrol assignment at #LASD. They were assigned to Firestone Station. At that time African-American deputies could only work in 2 man patrol units w/ other African-American deputies.

Deputy Ruby Boyd is the uncle to Captain Burton.
